If the absolute worst thing you’ve ever experienced in life is that some guy didn’t return your secret crush for him, you either have it easy and should be grateful, or your priorities are just wonked up. (Do not confuse this with love lost. That is a completely different and understandable emotional ballpark.) 

There are a few girls I know that are traveling down this road I like to call, “the lane of depending on a man for happiness.” And no matter how much I try and shove them onto, “the road towards happy independence, with or without a man,” it’s almost as if they enjoy wallowing in their self created misery. This may come as a surprise to you, but you actually don’t need others to be happy! Wow! How groundbreaking! 

I have literally gone through five pages of someone’s tumblr, and every single consecutive post was about how their life sucked because they were a combination of:

• alone
• forever alone
• single and alone
• “looook i’m so hardcore hating valentine’s day because i’m single even though I really want a valentine so bad I want to pee myself from the anxiety and desperation.” 

Do you really think anyone would want you when you’re groveling at everybody’s feet and screaming, “LOVE ME. LOVE ME. LOVE ME. LOVE ME I’LL GIVE YOU MONEY. AND FOOD. AND TLC.” There’s a word for this behavior: desperate. 

Get up. Read a book. Go run a mile outside. Have fun with your friends; or what’s left of them anyways. Majority of them have mostly likely run away for the hills after you whined endlessly to them about about being forever alone. You have the rest of your life to fall in love and lose it and fall in love again and all that jazz. In short, take a hold of your life and start living for yourself. Everything else will follow.
